Elaine, our old fridge was a side-by-side. It worked fine except for the water dispenser-ice maker contraption. 🙂 But I do love the stainless steel look though! This thing fits a lot of stuff too.

I think the energy consumption is higher on this style than the regular freezer on top ones, but oh so worth it.
