I was going to do a drawing for National Reach As High As You Can Day (wacky), but I’m plumb out of time and want to work on revising a picture book manuscript instead. Sooo, I’m going to reuse an old drawing (not quite a doodlewash; sorry, Charlie!) for World Penguin Day instead. It also teaches a good lesson: never accept rides from monkey! Hah!
He picked up a penguin! I can certainly get behind this one more than Reach As High As You Can – deary me! How sweet – I’d like to join this fun joyride, although, going by the ears on that monkey, I’m already there! 😛

I love how the simplicity of your lines creates so much movement and character. How did I miss penguin day? Next year…

Monkey looks like a safe driver ;-). Four points of contact on the steering wheel! Maybe they are going to the beach… A wonderful comic illustration! Happy to see it again.

Adorable doodle. So appropriate today with the monkey/ape on the loose from the zoo. What ride.

Happy Penguin Day! The monkey’s probably a better driver than many of the people I’ve encountered on the road, and at least they all seem to be having a good time.

This is great, looks like they have fun! I had “reach as high..” on my list too, but didn’t find the time:-)

It’s really hard to find time in the day to do everything we want to do, isn’t it? 🙂

Oh, true…that monkey is probably no worse than many Vancouver drivers. 😛

So glad you like this one, Myriam! I like it, too…it’s just so silly and the bear and penguin have such straight faces when you know the monkey is going to pull a Thelma & Louise thing on them. Hahaha!

Monkeys are like babies…they look cute so they can get away with the naughty or annoying things they do. LOL!

Love the monkey steering the steering wheel with his feet.😀

I wish I had that kind of dexterity with my feet. 😉

Which would be totally ok because the car has a safety parachute which would end up being pulled by…. outer space travelling gulls?
