Where did the day go?

And I think I forgot to draw. But I’m knitting a large, loose hat for Son1 who doesn’t want to wear hats that squash his hair, the fuss budget. That counts as creative work, right?

  1. I love to sew, too! But my sewing machine is in a cold room downstairs and I like to hang out with the family in the living room…so knitting works better for family time. πŸ™‚ I hope you’ll show us the gift on your blog when you’re done making it!

  2. Yay! LOL! If I can convince him to model for me, I might post a pic of him. It’s just a matter of making it big and loose enough to not weigh his hair down. And, thanks! The yarn is actually one I inherited from my mom after she passed. She made these nice “buffalo” sweaters for us back in the 80s…but I think she ran out of steam before she got to my sister, so only my dad and I have them. πŸ™‚

  3. Yes I will. I knitted her a sweater for Christmas which I meant to post, but I didn’t photo it and I think she took it back to school with her. But I’ll take a peek in her room.
I agree, I spend family time cutting out things to use for collages!

  4. Knitting works part of your mind, leaving the other part free to think up story and illustration ideas. What’s son1 worried about, he’s got steel wool for hair, it’s not like it can go anywhere.

  5. Yeah, weird name for them, but they were a “thing” apparently. πŸ˜€ (As a purist, I object to the use of the term “buffalo” when they’re really bison…hahaha!) No, my mom never taught me how to knit; can you believe it?? πŸ˜€ I had to learn from a woman who was in my kids’ homeschool group years later.

  6. LOL! I actually had no idea. Had to look it up. Now I know one more cool thing :-).

Moms can’t teach their kids everything they know! That would be way to many things. Besides, kids tend to be more receptive to learning some things than others ;-). Though your family sounds like they like to learn lots of awesome things.
