A little bird named Charlie over at Doodlewash.com told us that it’s National Homemade Bread Day. For the lack of anything to post, I though I’d share a photo of the no-knead artisan bread that I make every week. The loaf in the back is the ugly duckling, but we love it all the same.
Teresa, Your ugly duckling looks quite delicious. 🙂

This bread is an absolute winner! I’ve had ugly loaves but I’ve never had bad tasting ones. 😋

Yowzer! Tasty. I’ve been making that same loaf. I like that recipe quite a lot. Here a shot of my first boule: http://livingstoncontent.com/2014/01/23/first-boule/ Now that are kitchen is done, I’ll need to start that up again. Thanks for the reminder!

They really are! Luckily, we have self control and don’t gorge ourselves on it. 😉

Bread is one of the true treats of eating. I don’t make my own, but most markets around here have lots of locally baked bread. Yum! (K)

As long as it’s tasty, who cares how it looks right? Bread and butter, food of the gods.

You are the new wonder woman, if you ask me!

Everyone needs a couple fresh baked loaves to save the day. I like the idea of Wonder Woman flying with them under her arms. But I just watched a Youtube video that said not all incarnations of Wonder Woman have the ability to fly. Sometimes she has an invisible jet. Hmm.

Oo, they look awe-some :-)! I just can’t believe one can not knead bread. I guess I have to not knead it to believe it. Maybe next month.

I can’t imagine not being able to eat bread like some of my friends ( gluten intolerance). That would be sad because bread is so delicious!

I know so many people who have voluntarily gone gluten free. Not me!

I guess your memory decided to put that in a deep, dark, almost inaccessible corner ;-). What is important, is that your Wonder Woman alter-ego can fly… Hmm… she can fly and has an invisible jet… depending on how much stuff you want to carry I guess… and whether you want to be invisible… but I’m just imagining and blathering…

I’ve read conflicting things about going GF. I know people with Celiac of course can’t have it, but some places say people feel better without it (even if they don’t have celiac’s disease), whereas other places say that that’s false and our digestive systems are fine with gluten.
We’re just going to keep enjoying bread unless we’re diagnosed with Celiac’s. 🙂

As Mark Bittman always said (to paraphrase): Eat a large variety of foods. Mostly plants.

Sounds like something Michael Pollan said: “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”

It’s good advice I think. These food fads come and go.

I am prone to flights of fancy while sipping :-). But these rambling thoughts came without ethanol fuel. When Donna called you the new Wonder Woman, the description seemed fitting and it just sparked my imagination.
