Rise above

There are many good posts written in response to the horrific attacks in Paris yesterday. I will link to the one written by well-known sci fi writer John Scalzi. I don’t have anything to add except to echo Anne Frank’s optimism and hope that we will rise above the hate, which will be one very good thing.

‘And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more.’ ‑‑Anne Frank

  1. So true, Michael. My own thoughts are so jumbled up with sadness that I really have said nothing publicly. Between Anne Frank and Scalzi, I don’t really need to say more. I’m glad there are those who are more eloquent than I am expressing what I feel.

  2. Oh Teresa! With a lump in my throat – you expressed it through Anne Frank perfectly – and all at once the title of your blog came to life to me. Big Bear Hugs Teresa my friend! Tight Hugs!

  3. Anyone who’d believe that all Muslims are supporters of ISIS really need to give their heads a shake. It’d be like saying all Christians supported the Crusades and all kids who lose a tooth believe in the tooth fairy.

Hopefully these horrible acts will help to bring people together to be more considerate of one another and make the world more aware that all sorts of atrocities are happening everywhere, and we need to be better to one another.
