Thanks, Haunani! Yes, I always make my own crusts. This is an excellent shortening crust that’s flaky and not greasy. It’s in the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. 🙂
I used the Better Homes & Gardens recipe for the crust and hubby used the Good Housekeeping recipe for the basic cheese-custard filling. We tossed in whatever we had on hand. 🙂
Pretty name and I can be flaky! I wrote my sister an email and actually typed in something that I was overhearing in the house instead of what I was going to say. She replied with “uh, what?” LOL!
After seeing your wonderful quiches today, I was craving some fresh veggies so I went to the Farmer’s Market and went a little crazy buying stuff! lol! Nice that your hubby cooks too! 🙂
Thanks Teresa :-). Your crusts always look so scrumptious. I will seriously contemplate taking my dough roller out of retirement. ‘Tis the season for pie!
Yummy! My favorite food. I haven’t made a quiche in years and really love them. Your’s are a piece of art. And, you make beautiful crusts, something I can’t do anymore. So I appreciate what others create!
Pat, wish I could make a crust for you…hugs! My mother-in-law never even tried to make crusts; she always bought those pre-made frozen ones. They are a decent substitute for when you want pie and can’t make the crust for whatever reason.
Beauties!!! So curious about your recipe…

It’s a good thing we don’t have Smell-O-Vision yet, or the scent would drive your stomach more crazy…LOL! 😀

LOL! You may be too late at this point as we’re down to half a pie and it’ll be gone by tomorrow. 😉 Sooo yummy!

Yay! Now you can whip up a quiche or some other amazing dishes with your fresh veggies! I had to marry someone who cooks because I can’t. 😉

Well, maybe not this weekend, but soon I’m sure. Unfortunately, we need a machete to enter our garden. Yikes!
